Established in 1991, Aeropower Pty Ltd was a pioneer in Australia in the use of helicopters to meet the inspection and maintenance requirements of the Australian electricity industry.
Over 25 years Aeropower has developed a full range of services to help electricity network owners and operators to cost effectively and efficiently manage their assets. These services include patrol, inspection, construction, conductor stringing, insulator washing and live-line maintenance repairs, as well has providing technical analysis and reporting on asset condition.
Aeropower continues to develop innovative solutions for asset managers across Australia and internationally.

Leadership Team
Roy Conomos
Executive Chairman
Roy is a founder of Aeropower and was CEO from 1993 until 2016, when he took on his current role as Executive Chairman. As an experienced pilot, aircraft maintenance engineer and a pioneer in the use of helicopters in Australia to support the electricity industry, Roy shares his experience and knowledge providing guidance to Aeropower’s executive leadership team as well as leading Aeropower international business development.

Darryn Carlile
Chief Executive Officer
As CEO, Darryn is responsible for Aeropower’s business strategy, financial performance and legal and regulatory compliance. An experienced executive, Darryn has more than 25 years of experience in leadership positions within the aviation, transport, resources and training industries.

Adam Roy
Chief Commercial Officer
Adam is responsible for Aeropower’s aircraft maintenance, quality, fixed base charter and flight school departments and the business’ commercial and sales & marketing initiatives. Adam is a qualified aircraft maintenance engineer but for the past decade has held whole-of-business focussed executive roles in service-based enterprises across a range of industries in the greater Asian region.

Mark McConnell
Chief Pilot
Mark is responsible for Aeropower’s aviation operations and is a CASA approved Chief Pilot (HOFO), Chief Flying Instructor (HOO) and Chief Remote Pilot. Mark has been a helicopter pilot and instructor for 12 years and has a Bachelor of Science from Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand. Mark’s aviation career has seen him work in a variety of roles including previous appointments as Head of Operations and Chief Pilot. Mark Brings strong management and leadership skills backed up with solid technical knowledge.
